Peace is a series born from a paradox: the strange stillness of standing in safety while the world, somewhere beyond the horizon, is breaking apart. It asks what it means to witness immense transformation without being consumed by it, and whether peace is the absence of suffering—or the courage to remain open to life in spite of it.

In every painting you will see a solitary dog. He is not merely an animal, he's a silent witness - never interrupts the storm, never explains it, never turns away. He watches as one who has already journeyed into the darkness and returned back. To me, he has become an archetype of the soul that has endured without becoming bitter.

This figure comes from someone deeply real. Years ago, I found my now dog lying beside a road after been struck by a car. His body was broken, yet something within him remained untouched. There was no resentment in his eyes, no accusation against the world—only an astonishing willingness to continue living.

I have often wondered whether innocence is an ignorance or the highest form of courage? To love after suffering; to trust after betrayal; to remain gentle in a world that rewards hardness—perhaps this is the greatest act of defiance.

Everything I paint returns to that lesson.The dog in these works is not waiting for salvation. He reminds me that peace is not given to those who escape the darkness - it belongs to those who have walked through it without allowing it to extinguish their capacity to love.
